This CD commemorates a quarter century of musical development together and pays homage to those pianists who have been a source of inspiration and joy to Dave for more than 40 years, most notably the great pianist and composer George Shearing, a deity to Dave as much as he was to Jack Kerouac. Shearing's influence can be detected in the renditions of Summer Song and Strollin', compositions of two other jazz greats, Dave Brubeck and Horace Silver. Another inspiration for this recording is the mystique of the wondrous Golden Gate Bridge, also an integral part of Dave's professional life.
